Getting started
- Install Union on each Mac you want to reach, and open it. It lives in the menu bar.
- Sign in with the same account on each one.
- Pick a machine from Union’s menu to see and use it — or open app.unionlink.app in any browser.
On a Mac, what does Union ask permission for?
- Screen Recording — to show this Mac’s screen to your other machines. Without it they see black.
- Accessibility — to take the clicks and keys they send. Without it the picture shows, but nothing you do reaches this Mac.
- Local Network — to find and reach your machines nearby.
Union’s Settings show which are on and open the right place in System Settings. After turning one on, restart Union.
The screen is black
The Mac you are viewing needs Screen Recording for Union (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording). Turn it on, then restart Union on that Mac.
I can see it, but my clicks and keys do nothing
The Mac you are viewing needs Accessibility for Union (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility).
It does not connect when I am away from home
Both machines need to be online and signed in to the same account. Union connects them directly when it can and through its relay when it cannot, so most networks work; some company networks block both.
Where do received files go?
On a Mac, to the Union folder in Downloads. In a browser, to your downloads.
Sending a file from Finder
While another machine is viewing your Mac, right-click a file in Finder and choose Send to … to send it there. It is an optional Finder extension: turn it on in Union’s Settings → Sharing → Files.
Removing Union
Quit Union and delete the app. To delete your account too, use Union’s account settings or the web app.
